Aura Instrumentation Inc. (Aura) develops, integrates, and installs automated prognostic and health management (P&HM)
systems. Automated prognostic and health management technology offers the most reliable means of near real time monitoring
structures for damage or to determine inspection or maintenance scheduling. The immediate market opportunities are for
harsh environment systems where health monitoring could improve safety, operation and maintenance, or mitigate
catastrophic disaster. Harsh environments are those where the equipment must operate outside, operate through and
survive earthquakes, etc., or have dangerous atmospheres around monitoring equipment. Examples are: civil infrastructures
such as buildings (hospitals, emergency operation centers, fire stations, high occupancy structures, and schools),
highways, railways, bridges, cargo ships and critical structures (oil platforms, power plants, dams, and runways), and
industrial sites. Aura is planning to expand into real time stress management or adaptive canceling techniques /
technologies to prevent damage or reduce fatigue in structures.
Aura is also pursuing prognostic and health monitoring systems for medical applications including monitoring the human
musculoskeletal system. The applications include ergonomic workspace management and devices, injury avoidance systems,
and physical therapy monitoring.
